The Cost of a Cure

April 27, 2006

The current conspiracy theory among the tin-foil hat cult is that "the government" and the pharmaceutical companies are probably holding out on cures for cancers and AIDS among other prevlant health issues for the reason that they make more money off of patient despair. However, two Chicago University researchers have confirmed what most free-thinking people already know, that a cure would make them more money than God.

FTFA: "…even modest advancements against major diseases would have a significant impact—a 1 percent reduction in mortality from cancer has a value to Americans of nearly $500 billion. A cure for cancer would be worth about $50 trillion."

The 1 percent reduction is enough to raise a few eyebrows.
